Six years ago Grandma brought a new addition to our family…Jingles. Jingles wasn’t like the other elves that sat on shelves. Oh no…she was a girl elf with an attitude. Here are just a sampling of some of her activities since she made her first appearance.
I can only imagine what she is going to do this year!
(Click on the first photo if you want to see larger pictures in a slideshow.)
I think that Jingles wanted to hang around and see what the girls were making in Test Kitchen.
Some of Jingles pranks are nice and easy to clean up.
It was an interesting fact to learn that Jingles likes racing.
Jingles likes to watch Nascar with a rough crowd.
Today Jingles took all of M’s stuffed dogs and put them in Sierra’s crate. It must have been MAGIC that let her take off Sierra’s collar in the middle of the night.
She even moved the picture of Sierra that M’s cousin L painted next to the crate.
A simple game of chess with one of her American Doll friends is always one of my favorite pranks….since Jingles never cleans up after herself.
And she talked the penguins into camping with her.
Imagine M’s surprise when next to her ‘fort’, Jingles decided to put up the tent.
How Jingles knew that the Dude still had his Star Wars figurines down in the basement I’ll never know.
Hans and Chewbacca are trying to protect the Hat Store.
Jingles and all the stuffed snowmen decided to play pinball one night.
How Jingles managed to get the highest score in the history of our pinball machine, I will never understand!
Jingles stole one of the cookies M made in Test Kitchen from the cookie jar.
Jingles decided to build a snow fort and have a snowball fight in our freezer. How she managed to find a way to have a whole shelf to herself I will never know!
On Test Kitchen days, sometimes Jingles just wants to have a bird’s eye view of the girls during Test Kitchen.
Today was a doozy! She gift wrapped my bathroom picture. But did she stop there? NO!
She gift wrapped the whole toilet, including the toilet paper!
Imagine M’s and my surprise when we came down to find the furniture rearranged.
Why does she look like she is laughing at me?
Jingles decided to rearrange the pictures…and improve on them.
Jingles was having WAY too much fun with this prank.
So one would think Jingles is just sitting innocently at the fireplace…ignoring the clues of the ‘throne’ she is sitting on and the fact that she has a balloon in her hands.
Following the clue of her toilet paper throne, outside the bathroom we found a couple of elf sized warning signs…
Until you opened the door…
and they kept coming…
and coming.
M walks out of her bedroom, sees Jingles’ toboggan hill and says, “Man, Jingles gets to do all the fun things! I want to slide down the stairs too!
Jingles does look like she is having a good time.
Barbie and Ariel joined in the fun. I’m not sure they’re dressed appropriately for the ‘snow’.
Just like M, Jingles likes to play in the big tub!
One morning, M woke up and came running downstairs, hoping that JUST the tree being up would be enough for Jingles. When she didn’t find her she was all fired up to finish decorating. I too didn’t think Jingles was there so I sent her upstairs to get dressed and brush her teeth. If you could have heard the laugh that came when she turned on the lights to a RED bathroom…
And Jingles also changed the light in the commode area to green. M wants to leave it this way until we take the decorations down.
On Day 2 of this year, Jingles decided to help herself to the M&Ms we put out on Friday.
Imagine our amazement when we actually looked at them. When M went to bed, they were just plain red and green M&Ms. Somehow they had magically changed to have special writing on them!!
This morning Jingles didn’t do anything near as exciting as she does when the Dude is home. She just decided to join the snowman on the fireplace for a sled ride.
Jingles brought Nana’s chair down from M’s room and decided to roast marshmallows. Funny thing is…we don’t have big marshmallows in the house.
Yesterday morning Jingles was in the same place as on Sunday and there was a little girl in tears because she didn’t move. Thankfully Jingles sent a note with an explanation.
Jingles definitely knows how to relax and enjoy herself!!
I can only imagine how hard it is for those dolls and Jingles to keep those headbands on their heads. 🙂
I think the mugs with hot chocolate packets in them are Jingles way of telling the Dude he needs to play in the snow with M.
Jingles decided to host her own version of Dancing with the Elves.
Imagine M’s surprise when she woke up to find 11 huge balloons in her bedroom.
She wondered how Jingles blew them up in her room without her hearing since…
…she would have definitely heard them being squeezed through her bedroom door.
Not only did she wrap M’s bedroom door, Jingles also wrapped the door from my office into her bedroom as well!
Would you believe this wasn’t the first thing I noticed when I came down this morning?
Why does Jingles always look like she is laughing?
It may be snowy outside, but in the our house it is a beach party.
Yes!! That is real sand on my kitchen table and water in my pyrex. Jingles is outdoing herself this year.
Ken is a bit outnumbered but he doesn’t seem to mind.
Not a detail left to chance by this elf. I wonder if she is going to clean up after herself for this one?
I want a new couch, but this isn’t exactly what I had in mind.
And there Jingles is…laughing at me again!!
My first thought when I saw the balloons was that they had started to deflate…then I realized they were filled with WATER!
First question out of M’s mouth was can I bring them inside? We told her she had to move them herself.
Jingles making snow angels on the kitchen table.
Last night Jingles stole some mini marshmallows from our pantry.
She even got the fairies Tinkerbell and Vidia to join in the mayhem!
I told Jingles this morning I was going to leave a dust rag for her to clean the chandelier when she was done playing.
Her final farewell the day before heading back to the Northpole was to TP us.
When M went looking for Jingles she found her sitting in the living room holding a rope.
The rope went up to the chandelier and all of M’s stuffed dogs were staring at what Jingles had tied to the end of the rope.
Even Sierra couldn’t stop looking at the biscuit!
Whenever Jingles is sitting on the window sill, I breathe a sigh of relief because her prank is usually outside.
Low and behold when it started to get light we could see that Jingles had set up a zip line for the Barbies.
It was a little misty outside so it was good thing they were wearing their bathing suits.
M was dying to eat these marshmallows right off the ribbon.
M noticed this sign on the inside of her door.
Hanging from M’s doorway was a curtain of bells.
M wouldn’t let me take those bells down until March.
A streamer curtain…a relatively mild prank by Jingles standards.
Jingles just couldn’t stop laughing at how afraid of the streamers Sierra was.
I can’t even imagine how long it took Jingles to set up this house of cards!
M was the one who noticed that Jingles was holding the Joker in her hands. “See mom! Even Jingles thinks she is a joker!”
The scary part is that M still had underwear left in her drawer after this prank.
I think Jingles was dreaming of summer fun.
Jingles used her Elf magic to make me some pipe cleaner flowers. I took it as an apology for all her crazy pranks.
Jingles borrowed some American Girl doll accessories to go skating in the family room.
M wanted to take a nap in the snow around Jingles ice rink.
Jingles even had a rope attached to each ballon.
Jingles must have used a dozen pads of post-its for this prank.
Sometimes I just wish Jingles would realize that Meghan wants to leave things like this up forever.
Personally, I think Jingles has a bit of an ego.
She even put her initials in the bathroom.
Tobogganing in the family room….Seriously?!!
Jingles definitely set the tone this year.
Jingles found mini-blocks at the North Pole to spell out her name…several times.
Jingles traded out the candy in the bowl with Christmas flavored jelly beans.
Looking out the window, Jingles had a rope hanging from one end of the yard to another with red and green garbage bags tied to it.
Meghan was thrilled to since it was the first snow of the year.
Once the snow was knocked off, the bag ‘balloons’ popped up.
Jingles must have a big project she’s working on up at the North Pole this year. Spelling her name with fridge magnets was actually kind of weak for her.
M loved when Jingles hung Christmas lights in her bathroom.
The worst part about this prank is that we have a golden retriever which means I had to wash all those cups to remove the dog hair before we could use them.
On Test Kitchen days, Jingles seems to so less intrusive pranks. This one I didn’t mind having up for the rest of the Christmas holiday.
One morning all Jingles left was a set of keys. M had no clue what the keys opened.
Jingles thought Sierra’s bowls should be a little more festive for Christmas.
Two days later, M finally found out what the green and red keys were for. All of Meghan’s uniform clothes and shoes were locked in Sierra’s crate.
I love it when Jingles helps me decorate.
Jingles project at the North Pole must have run into some snags from the look of this prank.
Jingles decided to make herself a swing out of red and green paperclips.
Of course her swing was off of the light in the entryway.
JIngles decided to play Angry Birds with the American Girl dolls.
The pigs actually make noise!
M was super excited to get a balloon launcher.
When M realized the blocks were part of a Jenga game, she wanted to start playing with the pigs on.
I don’t know what Jingles was thinking when she replaced all of our toilet paper with RED toilet paper.
Jingles decided to play some poker with the Girls.
Jingles always manages to have a great hand!
Jingles even supplied Star Trek M&Ms for the game.
Jingles put wall decals with her name up on our walls.
If only Jingles would dust when she is up at these high, out-of-reach places.
Jingles hung 12 Star Wars ornaments throughout the house. I think she likes Star Wars as much as M.
Jingles left a note that her special project at the North Pole took up a lot more time than expected.
For me, this prank was Jingles worst in all the years she’s been pulling pranks. Nutcrackers give me the creeps and I had to look at this one all day!
Jingles shrink wrapped our kitchen table.
Imagine M & M’s surprise when they opened the door to this wall of toilet paper and paper towels!
Thankfully, Jingles left them a way to get out.
Jingles last prank of 2015 was simply an ornament with her picture in it.
